glossier invisible shield review

My younger self didn’t really pay attention to skin care and if I could go back in time I’d slap my ignorant self. Thankfully it’s never too late to start taking care of your skin! It wasn’t until I reached my mid 20’s that I started taking this seriously. There are no products that will magically give you perfect pore less skin or that will stop you from aging, but a good skin care routine can help you improve your skin's condition and prevent damage. On that note, a key item on your skin care routine should always be a good sunscreen! You shouldn't expose yourself to UV rays for long periods of time without protection. Sun damage is a really serious issue, especially with skin cancer rates rising!

I have very pale and sensitive combination skin (oily t-zone, dry perioral region) which is prone to red patches if I'm under stress and even with changes in weather (especially when it gets really hot). Not only I’m prone to breakouts, but I get sunburned easily! My go-to face sunscreen for a few years has been Benefit’s SPF 45 Dream Screen since has a semi-matte finish and it claims to be oil-free, though honestly it feels slightly oily even after it absorbs into the skin, but it didn’t break me out compared to the ones I’ve tried before. I wanted to find something lighter but I had no luck finding anything to replace Dream Screen with, even natural alternatives where too heavy and greasy for me.

About a month ago Glossier launched a sunscreen which they claimed to be super lightweight, clear (omg yes!!! would that cursed white cast be gone for good!?) and perfect for every day wear. I love this brand, so I gave into the hype and purchased it the same day it was released since it looked quite promising. I must say I don’t regret this purchase at all! Glossier’s Invisible Shield did not disappoint! It's SPF 35 and has a watery gel-like texture that absorbs quickly onto the skin and leaves absolutely no white residue behind. It doesn't feel thick or greasy and it actually smells lightly like citrus since the formula has a bit of sweet orange peel oil! I don't usually like fragrances on my skin care products unless it's from natural sources so this is perfect. I've been wearing this product every time I go out since I purchased it and it hasn't caused me any breakouts or irritations.

From left to right: Glossier Invisible Shield SPF 35, Philosophy Hope Oil-Free moisturizer SPF 30, Benefit Dream Screen SPF 45

On the downside, the bottle only contains 1oz of product which might not last that long. Also, Invisible Shield is not water-resistant, so for the beach or pool I recommend something like Fresh - Sugar Sport Treatment Sunscreen with SPF 30 which is what I wear on those occasions.

Overall I really like this product and my skin has reacted wonderfully to it. I will definitely be repurchasing once it runs out! Plus how cute is that packaging? Love that pop of yellow!

Also, hellooooo! It’s been forever since I last posted here. I hope you’ve all been well! It’s already summer here in Puerto Rico and I can’t wait to hit the beach, but we’ve been so busy moving to our new apartment that all I want to do is sleep! I hope to post again soon, thank you for reading!

Ps: None of my reviews are sponsored, they are 100% my opinion and experience. If you’d like to try Glossier you can use my referral code for 20% off (when a friend uses your referral link you get store credit so it's a win/win!).

I linked the figure in the collage, but lucky cats come in many different styles and you can find them on oriental markets, in stores where they sell Japanese related items like JBOX or on ebay and Amazon.
13. MushroomCat ultimate scratcher/lounge bed - No more boring rectangle scratchers! This will be purrfect for your furbabies. Lots of cardboard to scratch and sturdy enough for them to lounge around. Measures 18.9” x 9.0” x 12.9”.

summer favorites + new domain!

It’s been almost 3 months since my last post, but I’m happy to be back! I feel like every time I say “I’ll be posting more on my blog and Instagram!” something happens which makes me neglect my social media, but it’s always something good so I don’t mind. My boyfriend recently got a Wii U for our apartment and we adopted another cat (her name is Notii and she's a ball of black fluff and energy) so this totally didn’t help with my productivity. Also, you might have noticed I changed my blog name. While I still love “cats & macarons" (I kept the domain and it redirects to this one now) I feel this one suits me better! I struggle with my OCD on a daily basis, it makes me doubt myself and my work often, but I still try to make the best of each day and I keep creating no matter what; add my love for everything cats and The Purrfectionist was born! (more like The Purrcrastinator... ahahah) Anyway, I hope this summer has been wonderful for all of you! For me it has seriously been super fun, but also busy and quite rainy. I feel like it went by too fast, hello September! So today I want to share with you some of my favorite things this season!

Mist & Skin Tint
Love & Roses mist by Olivine Atelier - I purchased this a few months back, but I found myself using it quite often during summer. This mist is made with a blend of essential oils and flower essences to soften and soothe skin. I love applying it after I shower and before applying make up since it feels very refreshing. It has a calming light rose scent and it’s even infused with rose quartz (good vibes all around!). Also, it’s vegan! I’ve used mine so much I’m almost out as you can see. Will definitely repurchase!

Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint in Light - This summer I seriously survived with no foundation, just sunscreen and concealer. On those days I wanted something extra this lightweight skin tint came to the rescue! Even though it’s very sheer it helps evens out your skin tone and makes your skin look smoother. I love that it feels like you are wearing nothing at all on your face! The only “con" I can find is that it offers very little coverage so this might not be for everyone. (Psst, if you are interested in purchasing and would like 20% off, feel free to use my referral code)!

Shea Moisture Fruit Fusion!
• Shea Moisture Fruit Fusion Coconut Water Shampoo & Créme Rinse - These products are AMAZING! Made with dragon fruit, lychee, green apple extracts, coconut water, Imbe oil and aloe these products gently cleanse and hydrate hair without weighting it down, plus they smell heavenly. I've been getting a lot of compliments about my hair since I started using them. My hair is between 2a and 2b (loose waves) with medium thickness which gets oily really fast and even though the bottle says "fine, wavy curly hair" these have been great for my hair since they give shine and hydration without making hair heavy and limp. I recently cut my hair into a messy layered bob so it's just what I needed to keep my waves looking fluffy and effortlessly "tousled" . Plus it seriously feels much softer and it has not been frizzy at all (before I would need to use hair mists to help control the frizz)! This brand uses natural, organic and sustainably produced ingredients. Also, these shampoos and conditioners are also sulfate, paraben, phthalate and cruelty free!

Art supplies!
Koi Watercolors 24 color Field Sketch Set - I’ve found myself putting down Copics and coloring with watercolors instead. I got this 24 color travel set as a gift and I love it so much. I’ve been using it all summer and taking it along to pretty much everywhere; its sleek and lightweight design is perfect. The paints are very pigmented and offer beautiful vibrant colors. This set includes a refillable water brush, a mixing palette and dabbing sponges. I’m not a big fan of the water brush that comes in this set since I feel it gets worn out fast. I got a Pentel Aquash brush to use instead and I highly recommend it. You can choose from three nib sizes (fine, medium and large), holds a good amount of water and it has a nice sharp tip. I’ve been meaning to buy thicker paper to work with, but right now I’m using a Canson’s 140lb Watercolor paper sketchbook.

Water brushes!
(Left: Koi Waterbrush M nib // Right: Pentel Aquash Brush M nib)

(Top: Lush Liquid Liner in Fantasy // Bottom: Lancome Juicy Shaker in Great-Fruit)

Lancome Juicy Shaker in Great-Fruit -I fall for cute packing too easily and this cocktail shaker inspired packaging was too cute to pass up! You shake the bottle (it even sounds like an actual shaker) to mix the nourishing apricot, peach, sweet almond, cranberry and muscat rose oils with the pigment. There’s 20 different shades to choose from and each one has a corresponding scent that! After swatching them in-store Great-Fruit (which smells just like delicious grapefruit hard candies!) was my favorite. It’s a lovely orange coral that looks super vibrant on the bottle but it actually goes on quite sheer like most of the other shades available. The only downside of these is that these are not very long lasting so you will have to re-aply during the day.

Lush Liquid Liner in Fantasy - While I’ve been really into minimal and natural looking makeup lately when I want to give a little “boost” to my eye makeup I love adding a thin line of gold liquid liner either under my lower lashes! I’m currently loving this gorgeous shade by Lush. I find the applicator to be a bit tricky, but you get the hang of it after a few tries or you can just dip a small angled brush! Fantasy is pigmented, long-lasting and best of all, 100% vegan!

NEST fragrance in Citrine - I got two deluxe samples at Sephora because I’m a sucker for perfumes with citrus notes and instantly fell in love. It’s made with notes of lemon blossom, lotus flower, freesia, dew drop accord and precious woods. Citrine is such a refreshing fragrance that you can wear anytime of day, I’ve gotten so many compliments when wearing it. The citrus notes play along nicely with the light floral notes, it’s not overpowering at all. I seriously NEED the full size of this, but these deluxe sample roll-ons last a lot so, yay!

Bubble bars!
(You might be wondering why these look new… well… I might have stocked up on these… ooops)

Pink Flamingo bubble bar - I think it's obvious I'm obsessed with cats, but did you know I also REALLY love flamingos!? Lush is totally fueling this flamingo love with this super cute bubble bar! It smells like a delicious fruity tropical cocktail, it’s made with skin softening cocoa butter, turns water PINK and it’s vegan! To use just hold the bar under the running tap for a bit and you will get lots of bubbles and deliciously scented pink water. Also, this bubble bars is reusable, you can get around 3-4 baths from it (the flamingo wont look like a flamingo after the first use tho)!

Brightside bubble bar - This bubble bar is made with a citrus blend of Sicilian mandarin, tangerine and bergamot oils it making it smell delicious! It’s also vegan and turns the water a gorgeous orange-red shade. Brightside is not moisturizing unlike the Pink Flamingo bubble bar, but the scent, bubbles and color make this a perfect summer afternoon bath treat! This bubble bar is a on the bigger side so I always cut mine in 4 pieces and I just crumble one of the fourths under the tap whenever I want to use it.

Boho-chic fashion - If you’ve followed me for a while on Tumblr or Instagram you know I was a huge fan of “kawaii fashion” and “jfashion”, but since summer of 2015 I feel my style has transitioned into a more laid back style (you can usually find me wearing striped tops, skinny jeans and flats or sandals). These past months I’ve been seriously loving boho-chic fashion. Paisley prints, flowy camisole tops, olive and mustard colored pieces, soft wide pants, sandals, pretty crystals, rustic gold toned accessories and so on! I find this style looks very fashionable and flattering while still being super comfortable and perfect for this hot weather! I've been getting a lot of cute pieces from AE, Marshall's/TJ Maxx and also secondhand from Poshmark!

Vaporeon love!
(This was my first Vaporeon, don't judge those CP, it's a weak and small baby but I love her)

Pokémon Go - TEAM MYSTIC REPRESENT!!! I’ve been having fun catching Pokémons everywhere I go. This also became a fun way to exercise during summer since my boyfriend and I would walk around town on the afternoons looking for Pokémons. My current goal is to get all the Eevee evolutions. Also, how cute is this plush my boyfriend got me? Vaporeon is my favorite Pokémon (followed by Sylveon and Espeon)!

favorite art supplies

I love art supplies, they are seriously one of my favorite things in the world. I can go to an art store and just spend hours there trying out markers and pens, looking at sketchbooks… aaah! So today I wanted to share with you my favorite art supplies at the moment!

Copic Sketch & Copic Ciaos - Both types have a brush nib which I ADORE, the ink is very smooth and blends wonderfully. Sketch markers are available in 358 colors and Ciaos in 180. Ciaos are a good alternative to those looking to try Copics for the first time or just certain colors that you might not use as much. They have exactly the same ink as the Sketch markers just in a smaller amount, making them more affordable.

• Winsor & Newton Promarkers and Brushmarkers - These where recommended to me by my friend Trixia as an affordable alternative to Copics. Promarkers have a firm bullet-point nib similar to the Copic Classic makers and come in 148 colors. Brushmarkers have a brush nib similar Copic Sketch/Ciao and come in 72 colors, which was a bit of a bummer since I really like this nib type the best and I’d love to have some of the Promarker colors in brush nib instead (like the color Mango, it's my favorite!). I was seriously surprised by the quality of the ink, plus the colors blend really nicely as well.

Both Copics and Pro/Brushmarkers have alcohol based ink. Compared to Copics I feel Pro/Brushmarkers have a much smoother finish while Copics seem to bring out details of the texture of the paper you're using more easily, but I personally love this. Both brands markers are double tipped, they have the brush or bullet nib and a medium broad nib for thick strokes. As far as bleeding goes I noticed the same amount for both brands, but also take into consideration that I do not use bleed-proof paper! Also, Copic markers are refillable and the nibs are replaceable while Pro/Brushmarkers don’t have this option.

If you have the chance always swatch the markers first before buying or look for swatches online! Do not trust the color on the packaging since in most cases it can be very different. I did my best to keep the swatches as true to real life as possible in the following photo!

Swatches // Left: Copic Sketch and Copic Ciao, Right: Promarker and Brushmarker

I sketch everything using a 0.7mm mechanical pencil then ink the drawings using the following:

Prismacolor Premier in B (brush tip) .03, .05 and .08

PIGMA Micron in BR (brush tip), .005, .01, .03 and .05

Gelly Roll in White and Gold for details

Update! I got some new brush tip pens and decided to swatch them so you can see how they look brand new vs the ones I used before!

Pentalic Traveler Pocket Journal, Sketch - These sketchbooks have 160 pages of smooth, 74lb, acid free, white sketch paper and come in variety of portable sizes! I’m currently using the Yellow Gold in 8” x 6”. The cover is waterproof, flexible and cleans easily with a wet wipe. These are a great affordable alternative to Moleskine notebooks and also have an elastic closure.

Art Alternatives Spiral-Bound Sketchbook - These sketchbooks have 80 sheets of 75lb acid-free white paper. My favorite size is the 5.5" x 8” (I have 3!). The paper in these is not as smooth as the Pentalic sketchbook paper, but I really like the texture it has and it also feels thicker even if it's just a 1lb difference! Also, I really like that these are hardcover and very sturdy.

I hope you found this post useful! Thank you for reading!

love at first sight: glossier

Glossier is a skin care and makeup brand that aims to make those things fun and simple. I was seriously loving their fresh and casual style so I decided to give them a try. Also, Glossier products are hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic, paraben-free, fragrance-free (except the Coconut Balm) and not tested on animals.

My order shipped just few hours after placing it and arrived 3 days later via USPS, so efficient! They currently only ship to the US and Puerto Rico, but are working on shipping internationally soon. Everything arrived packed inside the cutest box that has their "skin first, makeup second, smile always” mantra on it and the products came inside reusable zip pouches lined with pink bubble wrap! The order also came with a super cute sticker sheet.

Priming Moisturizer - This product was the main reason I made my order. I’ve been using Clinique’s Dramatically Different Gel moisturizer for a while, but I felt it was time to try something new (with less chemicals and more natural ingredients!) and I have to say I'm in love! This lightweight moisturizer works perfect on its own at any time of the day or as a primer before applying makeup! It absorbs quickly onto the skin leaving it soft, dewy and hydrated. It's also buildable so it can be layered for additional moisture. I have sensitive combination skin and this moisturizer has not made me look greasy nor it has broken me out! I love that it's fragrance and dye free making it perfect for sensitive skin, plus it has aloe and honey extract which help soothe skin. The only downside is that it does not have any SPF so you will need to layer up your favorite one during daytime (I really like Benefit's Dream Screen).

Generation G in Cake - A sheer matte lipstick that goes on like a lip balm and has the finish of a lip stain! Cake is a warm peach “your lips but better” shade that flatters ALL skin types. It's perfect for a natural/fresh faced look. The formula is moisturizing and feels like you are applying a tinted lip balm, but the result is a lovely sheer matte flush of color (you can layer it up for a more saturated look)! The only downside is that it's not long-lasting so you will find yourself re-applying this quite often.

Stretch Concealer in Light - I dislike that most concealers feel heavy, dry and crease under my eyes, but Glossier’s Stretch Concealer feels like a dream. It glides onto the skin, blends to a gorgeous natural finish and has buildable coverage without cakey results! This concealer is made with avocado oil, jojoba oil and cocoa butter which make it super nourishing. It not only covers and brightens dark circles wonderfully and without creasing, but also does a great job covering up redness (that rosacea life, sigh) and zits! I can’t recommend it enough! This concealer is the best one I’ve tried so far.

Generation G in Cake, Stretch Concealer in Light

I'm obsessed with everything I purchased! These products are perfect for daily use and if you're a fan of the "effortless" look these are definitely for you. Plus I love their minimalist, travel friendly packaging! If you are interested in ordering from Glossier you can use my referral link to get 20% off your order!

20. Laser pointer - The cutest laser pointer! Purrfect to play with your furrbabies or even for presentations at work/school! Press the paw pads to turn on the laser!

wet n wild makeup review!

I recently purchased a few products from Wet n Wild's Spring 2016 releases and I've totally fallen in love with this brand. Wet n Wild offers a variety of inexpensive, vegan friendly and cruelty-free makeup products perfect for those on a budget or for anyone looking to try out new beauty products without spending a lot!

Vegan Makeup BrushesBrushes: powder, blush, crease, large eyeshadow, small eyeshadow

Makeup brushes - These brushes are not only super cute but also cruelty-free, gluten free and vegan! There's 17 brushes to choose from and their prices range from only $0.99 to $2.99! I got the powder, blush, crease, small eyeshadow and large eyeshadow brush. Their pink tipped bristles are made of very soft synthetic fibers which feel amazing on the skin. They're pretty dense, pick up a good amount of product and blend the product onto the skin evenly. Also, their ergonomic acrylic handle offers an easy grip. I think some might find these brushes a bit too lightweight and soft, but that's the only downside I can think of. The quality of these brushes is seriously impressive for the price, plus I can't get over how cute these look! I've been washing them with the blendercleanser solid (I swear by this product, it's a life saver!) under lukewarm water and I haven't noticed any fading of the pink tips or bristle shedding at all!

One Step Wonder Gel in Pardon My Peach and Condensed Milk
One Step Wonder Gel in Pardon My Peach & Condensed Milk - If you follow me on Instagram then you’ve already seen me rave about these polishes! These are cruelty-free nail polishes that offer the color and shine of a gel polish in just one step, no UV light or top coat needed. Pardon My Peach is a lovely vibrant peach color, while Condensed Milk is a neutral nude color. They need two coats for the color to not look streaky, but the formula dries really fast so that’s not a problem. These polishes are very long lasting. While I’m usually skeptical over claims like "provides up to 2 weeks of color" I was ecstatic to see my nail color still looking great for almost a week! Nail polish doesn’t last on my nails a day without chipping, so for it to only chip a little at the top after a week is seriously amazing. Also, these polishes are free of formaldehyde, toluene and phthalates. How awesome is that!? These have totally become my favorite nail polishes, I can't wait to get other colors!

Color Icon Blush in Rosé Champagne
Color Icon Blush in Rosé Champagne - This silky blush applies and blends like a dream. The color is buildable, pigmented and long lasting. Rosé Champagne is a gorgeous nude rose color with light shimmers. If you have light or fair skin this blush will give you a pop of color and glow, while on darker skin tones I feel this blush would make a gorgeous highlighter. Like most drug-store blushes it comes with a small impractical brush, but that's honestly the only downside. I can't believe this blush was only $2.99, it’s honestly a steal!

You can find all of these products in the Wet n Wild website or at your local Walgreens!

Thank you for reading! ♥

coral favorites

The color coral makes me think of summer days, flamingos, fresh fruits and tropical drinks. It has such a lively and fresh feeling to it I can totally see why it's considered a “Spring/Summer” makeup shade. I live in a tropical island so lucky for me it's summer all year round, but hey, I think you should wear any color you want in any season! Coral toned makeup is definitely my favorite, I feel it suits every skin tone. The following are my top 3 products at the moment.

Milani Baked Blush in Corallina
Milani Baked Blush in Corallina - This is a silky vivid coral blush with soft shimmers that gives gorgeous glow and warmth to the skin. This blush is pigmented, long lasting and the color is super flattering on all skin tones. The Milani Baked Blushes are honestly one of my favorite blush formulas out there and they are very affordable. This has been my go-to blush since I got it last year! Also, these blushes are vegan with the exception of the color “Red Vino”. The only downside I can find is the packaging. While I love that it's compact and gold colored, the Milani logo on the top rubbed off very fast. Also, there’s a compartment under the blush with a mirror and a flat brush that I find useless. It would be nicer to get a bit more product instead even if it raises the price a few dollars because this product is honestly worth it.

Milani Brilliant Shine Lipgloss in Coral Crush
Milani Brilliant Shine Lipgloss in Coral Crush - This is a creamy, pigmented and non-sticky gloss in a lovely orange-toned coral. I’ve been really into simple and natural makeup so I’ve been using this a lot on it’s own for a pop of color and shine, but this gloss looks gorgeous over lipstick as well! It feels moisturizing and has a light vanilla scent. You will need to reapply the product throughout the day, but it has a doe foot applicator that makes it super easy to do so. I love the clear and gold packaging and the fact that it’s square since it won’t roll away on my vanity. This product is paraben-free and comes in vegan friendly shades (including this one). Just like the Baked Blushes these glosses perform like a high end product but at drugstore price!

Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipstick in Coral Blossom
Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipstick in Coral Blossom - Creamy and moisturizing lipstick made with cupuacu butter in a gorgeous salmon pink shade with light shimmers. This lipstick goes on smoothly, has buildable sheer color and a light minty taste since it has peppermint oil making it feel very refreshing to apply. Plus can we talk about the cute packaging!? It’s made out of eco-friendly thick cardboard and has a lovely pattern that compliments the lipstick color! This lipstick is formulated without parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, sodium lauryl sulfate, triclosan, and gluten. Also, Tarte is a certified cruelty-free brand. I’m really looking forward to trying out more for their products.

Top: Milani Baked Blush in Corallina, Middle: Milani Brilliant Shine Lipgloss in Coral Crush, Bottom: Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipstick in Coral Blossom

Also, I just had to feature Alex and Ani's new Sunset Floral wrap bracelet from the Spring 2016 collection because floral motifs, coral and gold in one bracelet!? I’m in love! Gold tones really compliment coral! The other bracelet is the Lotus Peace bangle.

I hope to be posting more often soon. I feel so terrible for neglecting the blog during February, but I've been super busy. Thank you so much for reading and for your support! Much love! xoxo

lush haul & review!

Recently I stopped by my local LUSH to repurchase some of my favorite products and get some new ones I’ve been wanting to try for a while! If you don’t know about LUSH, they are brand that specializes in fresh handmade beauty products. Their products are 100% vegetarian (some are fully vegan), eco-friendly and cruelty free! Also, all the products in this haul are 100% vegan, how awesome is that!?

angels on bare skin, aqua marina & ocean salt

Aqua Marina Face and Body Cleanser - This wash contains calamine and aloe vera so it's great for sensitive/irritated skin and to helps calm redness. The skin on my face is super sensitive and I have mild rosacea that gets easily trigged by certain products and heat and I can say without a doubt that this has become my Holy Grail LUSH product. My face looks brighter and feels much softer after using this. I’ve also noticed it’s helped control the oil on my face (I have a very oily t-zone) and my breakouts. The product comes rolled in nori which is filled with minerals (this makes it look kinda weird though, like a melted sushi?) and apparently it also has a bit of sea salt in the formula for gentle exfoliation. I have to be super careful with exfoliators on my face, but Aqua Marina does not feel rough at all (I couldn’t even tell it had sea salt), it actually has a nice creamy consistency.

Angels on Bare Skin - This wash is made with finely ground almonds, lavender flowers and rose absolute. It’s gentle enough for sensitive skin, plus the lavender scent feels very relaxing. I love using it as an all over body scrub since it leaves my skin feeling super soft. I use this once a week on my face as a "stronger" exfoliator.

Ocean Salt - Self Preserving - This scrub makes you feel like you are having a cocktail by the beach. It has a light citrusy scent and mixed in with the sea salt there’s fresh avocado and coconut, plus it contains vodka to tone and brighten the skin! My boyfriend uses it on his face, but if you have sensitive skin like me I recommend just using it on your body because it can feel quite rough due to the thick sea salt. Also, I prefer this self-preserving formula over the original one since it doesn’t have any synthetic preservatives.

shower gel & jelly

Olive Branch shower gel - This is my all time favorite LUSH shower gel. It has an amazing warm mandarin scent that lingers on (even my whole bathroom ends up smelling like it) and feels so calming! This gel is made with organic olive oil so it leaves your skin super soft, but this also makes it more runny than other shower gels so be careful when using it or too much might come out. Also, be sure to shake the bottle before using it since natural separation occurs due to the olive oil.

Refresher Shower Jelly - If I had to choose my favorite LUSH product ever it would be their shower jellies, they are so unique and fun. This bright and shimmery jelly smells just like lemonade candy! It’s perfect to use in the mornings because the scent really brightens your mood. It lathers really nicely, feels gentle on the skin, leaves it feeling soft and smelling like lemonade, yum! To use it I like to take little chunks of it and rub them on a shower sponge to lather up. You can also freeze it, but I've yet to try this since I never take cold showers, brrrr!

snow fairy, the kiss & fairy dust

Snow Fairy shower gel - I was so happy to see they still had this shower gel in stock even if it was the small size since Snow Fairy is a Christmas exclusive item! All their holiday “limited items” where bogo so that was amazing as well! This shower gel smells just like bubblegum and it honestly makes you feel like you are bathing in liquid candy, it's such a fun scent. It also has shimmer mixed in, but don't worry it doesn’t stick to your body at all and its biodegradable.

Fairy Dust - Another holiday exclusive that I was super happy to find! This is a soft dusting powder that leaves your skin super shimmery and smelling just like Snow Fairy! I love using after showering. Just pour a small amount into your hands and lightly pat onto the skin. You can also dust it on your hair for an extra magical look! This product caught my eye because it totally reminds me of the 90’s when wearing body glitter was the trendiest thing!

The Kiss Lipgloss - Last year I bought the lip scrub in this exact flavor and fell in love because it tastes just like mandarin candy, but I didn’t manage to buy the lip gloss so I was ecstatic to see they released it again this year for Valentines and in a more convenient packaging! This balm is made with shea butter and coconut oil so it melts right onto your lips leaving a light pink pearlescent shine.

bath bomb & bubbleroons

These are the things I’ve yet to try from the haul, but they smell so amazing I’ve been enjoying just having them around my room:

Yuzu & Cocoa Bubbleroon - These are made with shea and cocoa butter along with soothing and moisturizing oils to make your skin feel amazing. You can twist apart the two halves so you can use it twice! To use just crumble it under running water for a moisturizing bubble bath! I just want to bite into it because it’s scent is such an amazing combination of citrus, tropical fruits and chocolate! I’m heartbroken because they don’t sell the Yuzu & Cocoa Shower Cream in PR/USA, but you can order it on their UK website!

Rose Jam Bubbleroon - This was an impulse buy because it smells just like a thumbelina doll I had as a kid, so it just felt so nostalgic! This glittery bubbleroon has a lovely rose scent because it's made with rose oil and rose absolute. It also turns water pink so I’m really looking forward to that! Also, just like the Yuzu Bubbleroon this has a creamy shea and cocoa butter center!

Dragon’s Egg Bath Bomb - I’ve always wanted to try a bath bomb and I knew I had to get this one right away after I smelled it. You can already tell my favorite scents are the citrusy ones and this bath bomb is made with lemon and bergamot oils which makes it smell like tart citrus candies. Dragon's Egg looks mostly white on the outside, but it has very light speckles of different colors all around (some have more brighter chunks though, it's pretty random). Also, it's supposed to turn the water into a lovely sherbet orange color! I'm excited to try this out!

current favorites

During the Sephora VIB sale I got a few products that have become huge favorites during these months and I wanted to share them with you! Also, all the beauty products I’ll mention in this post are parabens, phthalates and sulfates free and not tested on animals!

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment mini set - I love Fresh’s Sugar balms and this was a great way to try new colors for pretty much the price of one full sized balm. This set included Honey, Nude and Rosé. Honey is a warm nude, Nude is a peachy beige with a bit of shimmer and Rosé is a sheer rosy color. I’d gotten Rosé in the Give Me Some Lip set and I’d loved it so it’s great to have a back up. These balms are creamy, hydrating and have spf 15. Also, they should be stored in cool places since the formula is melts easily. The mini set is no longer available on the Sephora site, but I've linked the listing for the full sized balms.

Bite Beauty Mini Matte Crème Lip Crayon in Glacé - I got this lip crayon on the Bite Discovery set which is an amazing deal since you get 8 products. Glacé is a gorgeous dusty mauve shade, perfect for days when I’m feeling like wearing a darker lip color! Bite’s matte lipstick formula is amazing, it’s highly pigmented, creamy and doesn’t dry out your lips, it was seriously love at first application.

Marc Jacobs Beauty Twinkle Pop Eyeshadow Sticks in Volver and Three Shakes - Perfect for an effortless eye look, plus the packaging is super cute and travel friendly! These are twist-up sticks of shimmering cream eyeshadow. Volver is a peach champagne shimmering shade and Three Shakes is a milk chocolate shimmering shade. The formula is very smooth and buildable, I love mixing these two colors together or just wearing Volver alone on casual lazy days! It’s apparently infused with Alpine snow water which gives it a soothing sensation when you apply it and I agree it does feel cooling!

(From top to bottom: Marc Jacobs Twinkle Pop in Three Shakes, Marc Jacobs Twinkle Pop in Volver, Bite Matte Crème Lip Crayon in Glacé, Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Rosé, Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Nude & Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Honey)

Fresh Sugar Lychee eau de parfum rollerball - I’ve been wearing this non-stop, I seriously need the 1oz one. It’s a delicious fruity scent that feels very fresh (no pun intended) and citrusy. It’s notes are: grapefruit, italian lemon and lime blossom, lychee, mango flower, freesia, sandalwood, tonka bean and amber. What caught my attention originally was the name because I love lychee fruit, but I feel the grapefruit notes are more predominant, which is still amazing.

Briogeo Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray - This is a milky yet lightweight leave-in conditioner made with nourishing rosehip, argan, and coconut oils. It helps hydrate hair and reduces frizz, which is amazing because Puerto Rico has very humid weather and my hair is very prone to frizz. It’s meant to be applied to damp hair and I’ve been using it after every time I wash mine. I’ve been letting my hair air dry and noticed it feels much softer and the frizz has been reduced, plus it leaves my hair with a nice soft scent. This product is made with 95% natural ingredients, it’s cruelty free and vegan friendly. I really want to try their other products and I’m in love with the designs on their packaging!

My current favorites don’t only include beauty products! I’ve been in love with the Celestial Wheel Scorpio bracelet and Rosy Radiance beaded bracelet from Alex and Ani and the Clio cat hair clip from Urban Outfitters! They are delicate yet eye-catching pieces.

I can’t believe this year is almost over, it’s gone by so fast! I’ll see you again on January! Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

osumashi pooh-chan tote bag!

I have an obsession with tote bags, especially cat motif ones (is anyone surprised?). They are honestly my go-to type of bag since they are so comfortable and versatile (and some are bottomless pits where you can just keep putting things inside). I keep telling myself I should just save up for one “serious” handbag I can use for everything like a gorgeous black or beige Kate Spade Maise, but then I find cute and affordable tote bags and it all goes downhill from there.

tote bag

I purchased an Osumashi Pooh-chan canvas tote from Tokyo Otaku Mode and it has become my favorite bag, I've been using it non-stop! I’ve bought I ♡ Pooh brand items before and they have always been amazing quality and even cuter in person, so I was really looking forward to this purchase.

This bag is available in black, ivory, brown, pink and red and on the front it has Pooh-chan's sleepy face neatly embroidered which gives it a sweet look. I've been wanting a more spacious black bag and this one instantly caught my eye. The design is simple and cute without looking "childish", plus the color combination goes great with most of my wardrobe. Also, I love how the embroidering is ivory instead of white, I feel it contrasts nicely with the black without being harsh.

The overall construction of this tote bag is really nice. Sturdiness is essential in a tote bag because some tend to start breaking either on the bottom or on the handles after a lot of use/the weight of the things you carry and I don’t see that happening any time soon with this one. The size of the bag is approx. 11.8 x 15.7 x 3.9 in (30 x 40 x 10 cm) without the handles. The handles are approx. 8 in (20cm) in length. The bag is very spacious without being oversized and it fits all my essentials comfortably. The inside has cute purple polka dot lining and two small pockets which are perfect for your phone, charger, lipstick or any other trinkets. The tote has magnetic closures instead of a zipper and though I prefer the latter it hasn’t been a problem and everything has stayed safe and sound inside the bag. The only “problem" I’ve actually had with this bag is that the canvas material attracts pet hair and since it's black it's very noticeable (my cat decided to sleep on it and that taught me a lesson), so keep a lint roller around!

You can get this adorable tote bag for yourself or for a cat lover in your life for $26.99 at Tokyo Otaku Mode (if you use a referral code you can get $5 off your order, here’s mine!).

sonia kashuk color crazed brush review

My best friend, Trixia, surprised me with a Sonia Kashuk brush set and I was ecstatic since I've been wanting new brushes for a while! This brush set is called “Color Crazed” and it’s a gorgeous combination of royal blue, teal and gold. I’m loving how they look displayed on my vanity! It includes 10 brushes: domed powder brush, flat blusher brush, buffing brush, angled contour brush, foundation brush, large eyeshadow brush, crease brush, pointed concealer/lip brush, bent eyeliner brush and a lash & brow groomer.

I was definitely blown away by the quality of these brushes. They are dense, pick up the product easily and make application effortless, something I’ve always struggled with when using other brushes. The bristles are very soft, they do not feel rough on your skin at all just soft and fluffy. I love this especially about the eyeshadow brushes since the skin on that area is very sensitive and scratchy brushes can irritate the skin. Also, the brush handles are made from sturdy and thick acrylic and are very comfortable to use since they are not bulky or heavy.

These brushes are versatile as well, for example, the powder brush also works great for highlighting because of its shape (I'm currently using it for Opal by Becca) and the pointed concealer/lip brush works amazing for ColourPop eyeshadows and this has been a life saver (thank you so much Trixia for the tip!). ColourPop shadows have a cream-powder consistency that works better when applied with your fingers, but this brush actually picks up the product with no problem and makes application easier! I don’t really wear cream/gel liner so the bent eyeliner brush has worked wonderfully to apply eyeshadow on my lower lash line with more precision.

The packaging suggests washing the brushes with lukewarm water and the Sonia Kashuk Brush Cleanser to minimize color fading. I washed mine before using them and since I don’t own the brand’s cleanser I used Philosophy’s Purity Cleanser with lukewarm water as suggested, but I’m sure any gentle cleanser will work for this. After a few days of use I washed them with the blendercleanser solid by beautyblender and it worked great. Also, even after washing them I haven't experienced any shedding.

The only “con” I can find regarding these brushes is that only the buffing brush, foundation brush, concealer/lip brush and lash & brow groomer in this set are synthetic while the rest are made from goat hair. I honestly prefer synthetic brushes over real hair ones. I did some research and found out Sonia Kashuk is apparently a "cruelty-free" brand and that the hair is obtained in a way in which the animals are not harmed (pretty much like a haircut), but I would still like to learn more about this method.

Overall I am definitely in love with this brush set. They are aesthetically pleasing and apply makeup like a dream. This set was limited edition and retailed for $37.99 at Target, but you still have a chance to get them on ebay!
